Throughout
the book the one character that mainly changed was Adrienne Haus. She started
the book out as a person that would stay to herself and not talk to many people
besides her best friend. When her best friend goes on a class trip to Canada,
Adrienne’s mom forces her to go to a mother-daughter book club. During the book
club she becomes friends with the other girls in the club. She learns stuff
about them that she could have never thought and she learns more about herself
too. During the book Adrienne grows as a person and starts to not judge people
by what other people have said about them, and to get to know the person
because in the end they could turn out to be a nice person. A quote from the
book that describes Adrienne’s change in the end is “I’m sorry I wasn't a nicer
person to you, Wallis,” I said. “I’m sorry I imagined things about you that’s weren't true” (Schumacher, 226)
