Throughout the story Pattie has changed a lot. Since this is a biography, the books starts out when Pattie is a little girl and goes through major parts in her life. Nowhere But Up: Reading Skills
Right now thin the story Pattie is talking about how she struggled throughout her teenage years with drugs, alcohol, family problems, and jobs. I think that soon in the book Pattie will stop doing drugs and alcohol and get back on her feet. I don't think it will be right away but I think she will get a reality check and realizes that what she is doing is not the right answer. Will everything get better with her and her family? What is going to happen in her life that is such a big deal and that will stop the drugs and alcohol? Will she ever stop drinking and doing drugs? One thing that happens in the book and happens in real life is that teens sadly do drink and do drugs (Text to world). In the book Home is Where the Heartbreak is and in Nowhere But Up there are struggles with relationship and with trying to keep a relationship at such a young age (text to text). Lastly a text to self connection would be when you think that someone is your friend but truly they are just using you to get to someone or to get something.

Nowhere But Up: Chapter 4
In this chapter, Pattie goes through a lot of times where she has to make choices, some easier than others. She has to figure out who is truly hear friend and who is just using here. She is taught, by her mom, that crying is never the answer and that she should learn to just get over whatever she is going through whether its a loss or just feeling alone. Around this time in her life she gets into bad things like drugs and alcohol, she feels like they calm her down and that she can get through stuff better little does she know it will cause her and her moms relationship go down hill. After four years of no abuse, Pattie keeps trying to forget about the bad times until one day she is sexually abused again. I never knew this much about Pattie, the stuff she went through is heart wrenching! A lot of you know her as Justin Bieber's mom, but she is much more than that, she is a friend, mom, daughter, and sister. Even if you don't like Justin, you should think that Pattie is a pretty strong women. As of right now I give this book a 10-10! I think it is amazing to here what Pattie went through before Justin was born.

Nowhere But Up
I wanted to start reading Nowhere But Up because I have always been inspired by Justin Bieber and his music so I thought I would give his moms book a try. As of now I am not very far in the book, matter of fact I'm only on page 33. I have very high expectations for the book because of what she has said about it and because of what I have been told. Right now I am in love with the book, I feel like it has told me stuff I never would have known about Pattie and about her life as a child. She has had so many difficult times in her life where a lot of people would have just given up, but she kept her head up high and put a smile on her face. To me she is and inspiration and I'm going to keep reading the book because its just so hard to put down. My overall rating of the book as of now is a 10-10!
